Abá e.V.

The association Abá eV working group for human rights was founded in 2017 in Frankfurt am Main. The name "Abá" means "man" in the indigenous Tupi-Guarani language.

Abá eV is a non-profit association or a migrant organization that is committed to the “social and political participation” of people with a migration biography of all nationalities, especially women* and LGBTQIA+ people, as well as to social cohesion and a more sustainable and fairer world.

Since August 2020 we have been offering free, low-threshold German courses for people with migration backgrounds from Frankfurt am Main and the region. Since then we have had around 800 participants from over 50 different countries and thus from almost 35 different language communities.

About 60 groups (face-to-face or online) have been completed. We have course leaders with and without a migration background.

Our guiding principle is "Cohesion through sustainable and social participation".

We are committed to helping society become more equal and sustainable and to protect the dignity of every human being.

We are convinced that human dignity must be fully respected, protected and guaranteed, regardless of ethnic origin, disability, age, religion or belief, sexual identity, social or legal status.

We also believe that sustainable social cohesion is only possible if people in a society are treated as equals, have the same opportunities and can live in harmony with natural resources.
