Shadow report on the implementation of the Istanbul Convention in Germany

For one year, DaMigra eV, the umbrella association of migrant organizations, created a shadow report on the implementation of the Istanbul Convention together with experts from migration and gender equality policy contexts. The Istanbul Convention is the Council of Europe's convention to prevent and combat violence against women and domestic violence. With the ratification of the Convention, the Federal Republic of Germany undertook to submit a report on its progress and measures with regard to the objectives stated in the Convention. As a rule, non-governmental organizations create so-called shadow reports, which are used in the assessment of Germany by the so-called GREVIO committee.
DaMigra's shadow report shows where women * with a migration or refugee background are disadvantaged in access to protection against violence, prevention and law enforcement.
