Study on the political participation of migrant women * self-organizations with a focus on their lobbying and committee work

"We have to stop wanting them to say you can."

According to the Federal Statistical Office, every fourth person in Germany in 2018 had their own or family migration history. Why do we only see a few of them in committees, dialogue forums, networks and parliaments? Which measures can be taken to increase the political participation of migrant and refugee women?

This study is intended to find the first answers and encourage further research. We take our résumé from the project “Equal political participation for female migrants *” and present our paper “Political participation for female migrants *”, which was developed together with the non-partisan women's initiative in Berlin.
