Online kick-off event of the project women raises.ed

27% of people living in Germany have a migration biography. Despite making up such a large proportion of the population, they are not treated equally. Whether it's the "wrong" name when looking for an apartment, the threatening neighbor who is "disturbed" by the headscarf, or the overcrowded camp for refugees: those devaluations, exclusions and violence affect people in Germany who are considered "foreign" or " different” can be read and made into a group. The members of this supposed group have in common that they experience racism.

women raises.ed  is an anti-racism project launched by DaMigra, which is aimed at women and girls who experience racism, sexism and multiple discrimination. women raises.ed strengthens their ability to act, their ability to help shape and decide and sensitizes them to group-related enmity. But fighting racism is not primarily the task and responsibility of those affected themselves! The people and institutions of the dominant society that benefit from and maintain structures of discrimination must take responsibility. Therefore developed women raises.ed  also offers that are aimed at the majority of society and sensitize them to issues specific to women and migration.
