We cordially invite you to our online-conference "Stop Femicides! Effective against killings of women* and girls in the European Union". in virtual space.

Around the world 137 women* are killed every day by a member of their own family or their ex-partner for being women*.1 This is around 50.000 victims per year – the number of unreported cases is significantly higher.
On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women on November 25th and the meeting of EU Gender Equality Ministers, DaMigra is organizing an international round table of experts on femicides, on November 06th in cooperation with the the Representation of the European Commission in Germany. . In the framework of the event, a common European strategy for the protection against violence and the implementation of the Istanbul Convention will be discussed.
In this context we ask the following questions:
- What measures exist and how effective are they in the respective countries at combating femicides?
- What protection and support measures are European states obligated to take in accordance with the Istanbul Convention to prevent the murder of women*?
- Which tools and measures are suited to end this crime against humanity in 21st-century-Europe?
The event takes place in four languages: German, English, Italian and Portuguese.
