At the beginning of the 90s, migrants from the Ruhr area met to exchange ideas and to overcome their problems together in their new home. The Iranian women's association Parto grew out of these small meetings. The name comes from Persian and means sun rays - a name that gives hope and warms the heart.
The association is primarily aimed at Iranian women with the aim of supporting them in their struggle for equality with men. In addition, the association is committed to the integration of Iranian women and supports them by cultivating an effective German-Iranian cultural exchange, effective help for migrant women and promoting their political and social interests.
