Migrant March 2023 is over - but our resistance against daily injustice and discrimination is not!
Once again our campaign month "MigrantinnenMarch 2023" has come to an end. This year we have analyzed and classified an important topic for migrant and refugee women in terms of content and structure under the motto "Structures examine" in each week of the MigrantinnenMarch.
The year is 2023 - and there are still numerous barriers to the equal participation of migrant and refugee women. We made these hurdles visible again in MigrantinnenMarch by talking about sexist and racist discrimination in education and on the labor market, about gender-based violence and the need for a truly intersectional and anti-racist feminism.
For us it is clear: Politics and their state institutions must no longer decide about our lives and our self-realization over our heads. We demand political measures that guarantee a safe and self-determined life, learning and work for women with migration and refugee backgrounds! The anchoring of the parity law and the participation law in the coalition agreement was an important step by the federal government. But we are still waiting for the actual implementation of these projects. What we're seeing is minimal progress here. And we won't be put off any longer!
DaMigra Managing Director Dr. Atmaca together in our recap video. She looks back on the strong month, which showed once again how much work we still have to do as a society.
Diversity is our strength & solidarity is our power!
