DaMigra's voice in the "nd" on the headscarf ban in the Neutrality Act
Eight years have passed since the Federal Constitutional Court ruled that a so-called headscarf ban was incompatible with the constitution. Almost eight months have passed since the state of Berlin filed a complaint against the Federal Labor Court with the aim of continuing to ban teachers from wearing hijabs - without success. Now it's five past twelve to remove the legal basis for anti-Muslim racism. DaMigra was asked by “nd” for a brief statement on the planned reform of the Neutrality Act.
»Just because a law is changed does not make anti-Muslim racism a thing of the past. There also needs to be better access and the expansion of existing advice centers for those affected. Politics and civil society must pull together.", says a spokeswoman for Damigra to »nd«.
