DaMigra's voice in the young world: "Already there are constant human rights violations at the borders"

After one common statement of Alliance Istanbul Convention (BIK) on the planned EU asylum compromise of June this year, Dr. Delal Atmaca in an interview with Gitta Düperthal (junge Welt) about the dramatic effects of the reform on vulnerable groups such as women, girls, children and people from the LGBTIQA* communities seeking protection.

As one of three Alliance Councilors of the BIK, Dr. Atmaca on behalf of DaMigra how the planned GEAS tightening of asylum policy will undermine the Istanbul Convention and worsen the situation of refugee women, mothers and girls. In particular, detention in camps on the EU borders increases the risk of further experiences of violence for women who have to flee gender-specific persecution anyway.
