Attack in Halle: DaMigra in solidarity against right-wing violence
Halle, October 11, 2019. Our thoughts and deepest sympathies go to the relatives of the victims in Halle. We are shocked by this terrible act.
The attack on a synagogue in Halle and the arbitrary shooting of two people in front of the synagogue and in a kebab shop clearly demonstrated the extent of anti-Semitism in this country. Innocent people have lost their lives due to anti-Semitic and racist ideologies.
Even if a lone perpetrator is reported in the media, this attack is part of violent, right-wing extremist structures that are widespread due to racist, anti-Semitic and misogynistic attitudes. Their ideologues incite daily against “refugees” and “foreigners” and against people who think and act differently who stand up for a democratic and emancipated society. As an open, democratic society, we cannot tolerate this.
This violence concerns us ALL.
Threats from the law must neither be played down nor qualified as an exception in a lone perpetrator rhetoric. Right-wing attacks happen every day. Right-wing terror is not directed against a specific group, but violates the right to security of all people. This is a societal problem that must be tackled with united forces.
