A small glossary of complicated terms

2022 became the small glossary of complicated terms published. The aim of the glossary is to clarify complicated terms in the debates surrounding the topics Rassismus, Feminism and intersectionality in simple language to explain and make it more accessible. This glossary should help you become more familiar with the terms so you can use them more confidently. It is necessary, Recognize, name and combat racismto develop strategies against this and to support each other in doing so.

women rais.ed has now updated the glossary in 2024: definitions have been supplemented and terms have been added. Now the glossary has been added 8 other languages translated: English, French, Spanish, Russian, Portuguese, Turkish, Farsi and Arabic – Farsi is still in progress and will soon be available for download on our homepage. Every language has its own peculiarities. With each translation, we tried to take the German context into account and at the same time emphasize the differences in the respective language context.

But the glossary is not just for reference. There is plenty of space for yours own thoughts, additions and questions! Every definition is an invitation to deal with the complexity of that term and does not aim to capture the word in its entirety. Using examples, we want to create awareness of how important this is Terms for anti-racism work are.
